WINDOWS 10 UPDATE ASSISTANT
Microsoft started rolling out the 2022 Update for Windows 10 on October 18th, 2022, via Windows Update and its Media Creation Tool. The Windows 10 Update Assistant, a short executable file that serves as an upgrade process for users who already have Windows on their computers, is another way to access this update, additionally referred to as Windows 10 version 22H2. The Windows 10 Update Assistant can be used if you didn’t get the latest update through Windows Update or have an earlier version of Windows 10 and wish to upgrade as soon as possible.
This is how:
Step 1: Install the Windows 10 Update Assistant
Open your preferred web browser and navigate to the Install Windows 10 page to upgrade to the Windows 10 2022 Update.
Locate the “Windows 10 2022 Update | Version 22H2” section and select the Update now option by clicking or tapping on it. This step causes the download of the 3.18 MB Windows10Upgrade9252.exe executable file. On your Windows 10 PC or tablet, save it anywhere.

Step 2: Launch the Windows 10 Update Assistant to update to Windows 10 22H2.
Make sure you’re logging onto your computer with an administrator account. Double-click or double-tap on the Windows10Upgrade9252.exe file by going to the location where you saved it. UAC prompt appears. By selecting Yes, you can confirm that you want to launch the Windows 10 Update Assistant.
You have the choice to update to the most recent version when the Windows 10 Update Assistant has loaded. There’s a good chance you have a previous version since you want to download the 2022 Update. You need to see something like the illustration below, informing you that “[…] The most recent and safe version of Windows 10 is not installed on this computer right now. Version on this computer… The most recent version is. I was running Windows 10 version 21H2, however your computer’s current version might be different. Click or press the Update now button in the bottom-right area of the Windows 10 Update Assistant to update to the most recent version of Windows 10.
The Windows 10 Update Assistant:
Checks to see if your computer satisfies the criteria for installing the most recent version. The only thing that could go wrong because Windows 10 is already installed is if there isn’t enough free disc space for downloading and installing the most recent version. Everything should work without a hitch if your C: disc has at least 10–12 GB of free space.
Within a few seconds, the Windows 10 Update Assistant initiates an automatic download of the most recent version. You can also manually start it by clicking or tapping Next if you’re in a rush.
Note:
The lengthy process of downloading all the necessary files begins with Windows Update Assistant. To avoid running out of battery when using a laptop or tablet, ensure sure the power cord is plugged in.
You can click Cancel if you decide against downloading the most recent version of Windows 10. The Windows 10 Update Assistant prompts you for confirmation once you do that. If you press Cancel one more, the app will close and the procedure will come to an end.

The Windows 10 Update Assistant checks:
The integrity of the most recent files after downloading them. Additionally, percentages are used to display the download verification process.
At this point, Windows 10 Updates Assistant will install the most recent version of Windows 10. You can press Minimise and continue working while the installation is being done if you don’t want to sit still.
It can take several minutes to complete this step of the updating process. A fresh Windows 10 installation of the most recent version might be a little quicker depending on whatever version of Windows 10 you’re currently using (the older your version, the slower the process). However, unlike when using Windows 10 Update, you are not allowed to keep all of your programmes, files, and settings.
You eventually receive a message saying “Your PC needs to restart to update Windows 10.” You have the option of pressing Restart right now or waiting for the automatic reboot to occur in 30 minutes. Make sure you don’t have any open programmes or files before you do that, though.
You receive the following notification when it’s time to reboot or immediately after clicking the Restart now button: “You’re going to be signed out. To finish the update, Windows 10 Updates Assistant will reboot your computer. When you click Close, your computer or other device resumes shortly after.
The Windows 10 upgrade procedure continues after the restart. Be aware that your computer may restart more than once. You only need to wait, and this is very normal. It takes a minute or two to complete the last set of configurations when you sign in to Windows 10 once more.
You now see the desktop after upgrading Windows 10 to the most recent version (in my case, 22H2).
